■ Advantages of the Intelligent Busway
In power consumption systems, busway joint nodes, due to long-term operation in the air and the impact of ambient temperature, may experience thermal expansion and contraction, surface scaling, oxidation or corrosion. These issues can lead to loose joints and poor contact. Particularly, when busways are installed at high heights in workshops or within floor ceilings—locations that are difficult for manual monitoring—abnormal overheating may occur. In severe cases, this can result in fires or major safety accidents. According to data analysis provided by power safety supervision authorities, power units across the country suffer over a thousand major accidents annually caused by excessive busway temperatures, leading to significant economic losses in production and operations.
Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the temperature of joints in real time and accurately 24/7. When abnormal temperatures occur at the joints, early warning information should be promptly sent to relevant managers. This effectively prevents sudden disasters, reduces losses, avoids casualties, and ensures the safety of power infrastructure.
The intelligent busway system is a new type of safe, reliable, and intelligent busway system that can monitor the busway’s operating status in real time during its operation. It enables comprehensive, intuitive, and real-time monitoring and intelligent analysis of the busway’s operating status, and provides more accurate, timely, complete, and consistent status information. When the operating temperature of the three-phase nodes of the intelligent busway joint unit (connected to the busway) exceeds the normal range, or when the busway malfunctions due to overloading, insulation layer aging, or other adverse factors, the system can promptly send a fault alarm signal, ensuring the busway operates safely for a long time.
■ The System Consists of Four Components
Intelligent Busway Joint Unit: As a key component of the intelligent busway system, it mainly undertakes the data collection and transmission of the operating status of the A, B, and C three phases of the intelligent busway joint unit.
Intelligent Busway Tap Box Unit: A key component of the intelligent busway system, it mainly completes the data collection and transmission of the operating status and electrical characteristics of the intelligent busway tap box.
Intelligent Controller: Serving as a bridge between the Intelligent Busway Joint Unit, the Intelligent Busway Tap Box Unit, and the management platform, it performs control, management, and data transmission for the Intelligent Busway Joint Unit and the Intelligent Busway Tap Box Unit.
Remote Monitoring, Early Warning and Management Platform for Electrical Equipment: It has functions such as real-time data analysis, historical data analysis, on-site simulation, report generation, automatic early warning and alarming, and remote equipment management.
